Thirty attendees sat spellbound as Kip Carter, dressed in a period uniform and accompanied with field gear, described the Battle of Hanging Rock. This battle took place in August, 1780, on property that is now partially protected by a conservation easement held by KVLT.

Mr. Bill Marshall, SCDNR – Bill will talk about the SC State Scenic Rivers Program and challenges for water management – June 21, 2018;
Mr. John Jory, Oceana Gold/Haile Gold Mine – Local geology and the presence of gold – August 23, 2018;
Dr. Jennifer Tsuruda, Clemson University – the “bee lady” will discuss the importance of honey bees and other pollinators on October 25,2018.
