The 2019 events will include a spring wildflower hike at Forty Acre Rock in March, birding adventures in April, Lilyfest at Landsford Canal State Park in May, and a fall hike at Nitrolee. Please consult our website for updates to these events.
We are planning a spring wildflower walk at Forty Acre Rock on Saturday, March 23rd. The walk will begin at 1:30 PM at the upper parking lot on Conservancy Road. The hike will be led by Dr. Doug Raynor, distinguished Professor of Biology at Wofford University. Dr. Raynor has a long history of identifying wildflowers and other plants in South Carolina. Comfortable walking shoes and refreshments are advised.
Birding adventures on the Catawba River – join us on April 20 for our annual bird counts. We will be identifying and counting birds at Landsford Canal State Park and at Rocky Creek in Great Falls. Plan for an early start as we hike these beautiful areas. This is a great opportunity to learn to recognize many of the birds common to the area.
