We are excited to start offering outings once again starting in April. We have a unique opportunity to get people outdoors and be able to safely socialize with like-minded people. All outings are free and open to KVLT members and the public.
There are a few new procedures to help keep everyone healthy and safe.
1) REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED
2) Each outing is limited to 12 people per group/time slot
3) Masks are required – no exceptions
Some outings offer multiple time slots so be sure to choose the correct time and date for the outing when you register.
Please remember to respect others through social distancing and masks. We hope to provide some safe opportunities getting people outdoors while still being conscious of CDC guidelines.
You will be required to input your name, email, phone and physical address. You will then pick your outing using the drop down menu. This must be done for each person attending. A confirmation email will be sent to you once you click submit. If you have any problems, registering, please call KVLT at 803-285-5801 for assistance. We know there are only a limited number of spaces for the Spring Outings and we look forward to a time in the future when we can safely accommodate larger gatherings again.
Annual Bird Count
Annual KVLT Bird Counts have been rescheduled due to weather – please see below for new dates. KVLT will host a nature/birdwalk at Rocky Creek trailhead in Great Falls and Landsford Canal State Park at 8:00am on Friday, April 23 (Rocky Creek Trail) and Sunday, April 25 (Landsford Canal). Join local birding experts and expect to see and/or hear more than 50 species of birds that are in our area this time of year. This is an excellent opportunity for novice birders, scout troops, and others to learn more about our feathered friends. The event will last 2-3 hours, and binoculars and comfortable shoes are recommended. Each walk is considered easy/moderate and moves at a slow pace, stopping often. Please remember to bring water and a light snack should you desire. All participants and walk leaders will be required to wear a mask and we ask that you continue to be mindful of social distancing. No registration required.
Just show up at either location by 8am to get started.
